Chicago dell’Arte presents A Commedia Christmas Carol Dec. 19-31
CHICAGO, IL. (Nov. 20, 2008) — Chicago dell’Arte presents the world premiere of A Commedia Christmas Carol, onstage at BoHo Theatre @ Heartland Studio, 7016 N. Glenwood Avenue (the Morse stop on the Red Line) from Dec. 19-31. Spend a hilarious holiday evening with the eccentric residents of a small Italian town as they attempt to mount a stage production of Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol … and learn that this festive season has a way of bringing people together whether they want to be or not.
The show itself reflects Chicago dell’Arte’s unique approach to the Italian theatrical style of Commedia dell’Arte, combining the classics with modern sensibility. This highly physical show uses masks, slapstick comedy, puppets, and a little bit of holiday magic to create a 90-minute show appropriate for all ages.
In the short time Chicago dell’Arte has been on the local scene, it has managed to become the top theater company in Chicago based in this unique art form. Previous shows have been hailed by critics as “raising the bar” in Chicago theatre and “unmissable.”
There are only 12 performances of this entertaining theater experience (12 days of Christmas…get it?)

Equus Review
Equus is a superb production with incredible performances. A dark ride though the mind of a troubled teenager and the therapist who has lost his confidence to help him. A must see show. This is not appropriate for children s it contains adult situation and full nudity.
Show Text: Equus, written by Peter Shaffer, the Tony Award author of Amadeus, is the powerful and provocative story of a stable boy and a psychiatrist who seek to understand the sexual and religious mystery which leads to a climactic and unbelievable event. Daniel Radcliffe, the young international star of the popular Harry Potter films, plays the stable boy. Richard Griffiths, who plays the psychiatrist, was last seen on Broadway in The History Boys for which he won a Tony Award.
